I don't really attend the Fair much but you either...

I don't really attend the Fair much but you either get beat up by thugs on the street or you get beat up by Walker's thugs in Madison. At least the street thugs only take what is in your wallet, the Republican thugs are taking away a helluva lot more of my money than that.

This is a "Can't Win" situation, like so much of life really is. Can't win by having no enforcement, can't win by having strong enforcement.

If you are like most people, there is one basic fact...You can't have any fun, you can't let your hair down, when there are a load of cops around! --- Face it, for most people, having fun requires doing "a little something" that is against the wishes of your stifling authoritarian controllers. -- I don't mean like citizens breaking the law, more like kids acting out against their parents or teachers, the enforcers of our non-governmental laws of social life. Things like eating nutritionally bad food for you like "deep fried butter".

"Normal" people want to feel good, they get that by putting themselves in a frame of mind that is the opposite of what they need to be in when at work or school. What is "at work" attitude? It is sober, not under the influence of any substance, it is on their best, most polite behavior, it is not playing their A-game of dominance over all the idiots that surround them, both customers and coworkers, it is letting the idiot boss run their life. -- Normal people want to get away from "enforcers".

Anything good and free (or low cost) gets trashed when the low-life opportunity seekers of the street find out about it. The decent people that attend, hoping to relax, not be "on watch" for trouble, are "easy pickings" for these opportunists. -- Get that? The same "Easy Pickings" for the carnival hucksters that work the fairs also are also "Easy Pickings" for the low-life street thugs!

I'm also wondering what will happen at next year's State Fair, when concealed carry is fully in force. Will fair-goers be packing heat, or told to keep it in their cars on the streets of West Allis? Will they need to walk UNPROTECTED between their cars and the fairgrounds? Will the amount of break-ins into those cars go up, as the hard-core thugs look for a source of guns with honest people's names attached to the serial numbers?

Of course it's made me "reluctant" to attend the Fair!
I value my safety, & the Fair obviously does not.

The Fair prevents citizens from being able effectively to defend themselves, creating a criminal enterprise area, so why is anyone surprised when the thugs take advantage of people they know are defenseless??

I hope the victims of the racist mob include the Fair board in their suit(s), because of the policy forbidding self-defense coupled with the lack of protection.
When the Fair decided to prevent citizens from defending themselves, they accepted liability for protecting all fairgoers to, at, & from the Fair.
