Milwaukee Film Festival
Milwaukee Film is accepting entries for its 2015 festival. Unlike many such events, the Milwaukee Film Festival charges no submission fees. And this year, the dollar amount for cash prizes is up, making MFF a tempting option for cash-starved filmmakers trying to decide where to submit their work.
The 2015 festival will have at least one new track, for music videos, as part of its Cream City Cinema program. Submissions for Cream City Cinema, encompassing work in many genres, must come from filmmakers currently living in Milwaukee, Racine, Waukesha, Kenosha, Ozaukee, Walworth or Washington counties. The director who wins the Cream City Jury Award will receive $5,000.
The 2013 Jury Award winner, Michael T. Vollmann (Before You), used the money to produce his next film, which premiered at Sundance and was sold to CNN. “His success proves the value and impact of our Cream City Cinema Jury Award,” says MFF’s Artistic and Executive Director Jonathan Jackson.
Deadline for submissions is June 22. For more information, visit http://mkefilm.org/.
The 2015 Milwaukee Film Festival runs Sept. 24 through Oct. 8.
