1840 Brewing Company is an urban farmhouse brewery located in the historic Milwaukee neighborhood of Bay View. We craft high quality ales, lagers, sours, and stouts with a focus on barrel aging and blending.
Slow beer is a methodology and a vibe. While some of our beers may take over 24 months to make, all of our products are crafted with the same attention to detail in ingredients, process, and timing. We hope you’ll slow down and enjoy every sip with us!
FUN FACT: 1840 was the first year that a commercial brewery started in Milwaukee. We chose 1840 as our name, to pay homage to Milwaukee's rich brewing heritage & call to mind the rustic brewing techniques we employ.
