Both on his own and as part of the duo KIINGS, Milwaukee producer Chris Siegel has demonstrated a rare knack for posh, genre-bending EDM. His reflective new single “I Can’t” reunites him with Madison singer lulunah, who joined him on his Strehlow collaboration “Give You Anything” earlier this year. It’s another tender track that wears its heart on its sleeve.
“Lyrically, the song is about the need to break away from an unhealthy relationship,” Siegel writes. “It could be a friend, romantic partner, business partner, etc. ‘I Can’t’ references a particular moment in time where a person fully realizes the relationship can’t go on as is. Although emotions of sadness are present lyrically, the song is ultimately meant to emphasize the concept of self-worth + self-care.”
The track will be featured on an upcoming EP, which Siegel hopes to release later this year or early next year. You can stream it below.
