Milwaukee rapper Lorde Fredd33 and the psychedelic indie band Tapebenders will play a free show at the Miller High Life Theatre on Tuesday, Nov. 6, for people who voted that day, the venue announced this afternoon. The show is from 6-9 p.m.
The show is being hosted as part of the #iVoted, an initiative founded by Wilco’s Pat Sansone, Madison House’s Mike Luba and entrepreneur Emily White designed to increase voter turnout, with free shows planned in 33 states. To get in, attendees will need to show a photo of themselves at their polling place. (A note of caution: attendees should use common sense when photographing themselves. While it isn’t illegal to take photos at a polling place, under state law it is a felony for a voter to intentionally show somebody else their completed ballot, so resist the temptation to share it on social media).
The concert will take place in Miller High Life Theatre’s Plankinton Hall, a 700-capacity venue on the theater’s second floor.
Lorde Fredd33 is coming off the release of his latest album NORF: The Legend of Hotboy Ronald, one of the most acclaimed Milwaukee rap albums of the year. Tapebenders, meanwhile, released their latest work this spring, a typically heady, ambitious EP called We Are All Gone.
