Vijay Iyer

Jazz pianist Vijay Iyer has established himself as one of modern jazz’s most ambitious performers, the rare player with a grasp of traditional jazz and an ability to bring in disparate outside influences. On his records, he’s incorporated sounds from Asia and has even recorded with underground rap legend Mike Ladd. Tonight, the adventurous pianist brings his quartet to Alverno College for an 8 p.m. performance.
