According to a recent report released by the American College of Sports Medicine, Milwaukee far exceeds the national average for farmers markets per capita. The Westown Farmers' Market is the city’s largest and oldest, featuring more than 60 vendors in the heart of Downtown. The market opens for the season Wednesday and, with the exception of July 2, runs every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Oct. 29.

Early in the season look for crafts from local artists, plants for your garden and prepared food from vendors in place of the bountiful produce of the late summer. Music and entertainment are also on hand, and the Third Ward and other attractions are a short walk away, making for a relaxing afternoon Downtown.

The market's entertainment schedule is below.

Poll

The U.S. Supreme Court announced that it will hear the case to determine if Wisconsin Republicans’ redistricting maps are too partisan. Do you believe the U.S. Supreme Court will order Wisconsin to redraw our legislative maps so the majority of legislative districts are competitive and voters will actually have a real choice between a Democrat and Republican?
