“It’s not just an arena,” Bucks President Peter Feigin told a crowd of reporters this morning while unveiling a $1 billion sports and entertainment complex in Downtown Milwaukee.
He said the Bucks were in a “deep partnership” with the city and county but didn’t have a whole lot of details about the funding—the biggest unanswered question about the new arena launch.
Feigin said it'll likely be a public-private partnership with some sort of authority created to oversee it.
Looks like it’ll be located north of the current BMO Bradley Center and spur more growth on the former Park East land.
Apparently, East Fourth Street would be blocked off to create a public plaza, a new practice space for the Bucks would be located on the western side of the development, and the arena would hold 17,000 seats. Pedestrian access would be great, they say.
So, what do you think? Should the city and county and the new Bucks owners (and taxpayers) launch a 10-year project that could jumpstart development Downtown?
