Bard and Bourbon
This coming Friday, Bard & Bourbon will be holding auditions for its upcoming production of Much Ado About Nothing. Those familiar with the play might not necessarily be familiar with the company. The answer is yes: this is one of those drunken Shakespeare shows. The idea behind the last production was to have one actor drink a few shots of hard liquor before the performance. The rest of the actors are sober. One isn’t. It’s a fun atmosphere.
So naturally, interested actors need to be over 21, though not all roles require alcohol consumption. Because this company loves the heart and soul of Shakespeare over superficial elements of casting, older actresses and actors are especially encouraged to audition. From the audition announcement, “ if you enjoy the play but feel there wouldn't normally be a part for you, this is your chance.” (Cool, huh? )
Auditions consist of cold readings from the script.
Auditions will take place on Jun. 12 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. For more information and to sign-up, visit the sign-up site online.
