Early next year Greendale Community Theatre will be bringing to the stage a 9-year-old musical adaptation of a film from the ’90s that was set in the ’80s. The romantic comedy about a guy who sings at weddings had originally been written for the screen by Tim Herlihy for overpaid comedic annoyance Adam Sandler. The movie made a great deal of money. The subsequent Broadway musical adaptation ran for less than one year. Since then there have been productions staged as far away as Germany, Mexico and the Philippines. Last summer the West Allis players did a staging of the show.
The Greeendale Community Theatre is looking to cast its production of The Wedding Singer this coming Monday, Aug. 10. Auditions will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. For further information, visit the auditions’ event page on Facebook.
