In Tandem Theatre concludes its season with the romantic comedy Little by Little, a witty musical created by Annette Jolles (storyline), Brad Ross (composer), Ellen Greenfield (storyline/lyricist) and Hal Hackady (lyricist). The story takes us on a journey of three friends (one man and two women) who, as director Chris Flieller says, “come to realize as they grow and mature that what they may want for themselves in life can have a big impact on the people they are close to, either as friends or romantic partners.”
Flieller points out that the play “is all music and singing, no dialogue, and flows seamlessly from scene to scene. It never really stops changing, just as life never stops to let us catch up.” He also remarks that “It’s not just cute songs and dances; it’s a story with real hurt, anger, longing and heartbreak along with humor and joy.” Musical direction is provided by David Bonofiglio, who Flieller describes as “the best there is.” Featured in the show are Michael T. Black, Jenna Vik and Rachel Zientek. “Our three singer/actors are all consummate musicians. They bring a tremendous amount of energy and ideas to the creative process,” says Flieller.
Little by Little runs May 1-24 at In Tandem’s Tenth Street Theatre, 628 N. 10th St. On Mother’s Day (Monday, May 10), moms can take the birth weight of their biggest child off the regular ticket price when making their ticket reservation. Additionally, composer Brad Ross will attend the Sunday, May 17 show and participate in a talkback. For more information and to purchase tickets, call 414-271-1371 or visit intandemtheatre.org.
