It’s set in the ’50s, but it was written far more recently. It’s a full-length 75 minute stage comedy by Evan Linder and Andrew Hobgood featuring five women. It’s set in a community center basement in 1956. From the description with Samuel French: “It’s 1956 and the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein are having their annual quiche breakfast. Will they be able to keep their cool when Communists threaten their idyllic town?”
Racine’s Over Our Head Players will be staging a production of the comedy late this coming September. They’re looking to cast for the show this month as it presents auditions for the comedy Tuesday, July 28, at 7 p.m. Auditions will be held at the Sixth Street Theatre on 318 Sixth Street in Racine. Auditions involve cold readings from the script. The show runs Sept. 18-Oct. 4. For more information, visit OOHPs online.
