The recently-decanted Bard & Bourbon Theatre Company will be staging a production of Much Ado About Nothing in the intimate coziness of the Theatre Gigante’s studio space. The show opens late this month. The premise was presented to the stage in a memorable outing on stage of the late Theatre Unchained not too long ago. A fast, fun staging of a classic by Shakespeare is rendered for the stage with minimal fuss over costuming and sets and props and things. One member of the cast drinks a hard liquor of some sort--bourbon for example--and the rest of the cast floats in and around a single drunken performer.
With the stage of Theatre Unchained having past on to history, B&B finds a similarly small stage with Theatre Gigante’s studio which is not far from the space that used to house Theatre Unchained just south of Downtown. That space was small. This space is smaller. Get closer to the pleasant inebriation later this summer as B&B presents Much Ado About Nothing Jul. 30 - Aug. 8.
