Later on this month, Boulevard Theatre presents Rx: Kate Fodor’s satire on people and their prescriptions. This Wisconsin premiere has a remarkably good cast. Erica Wade stars as an anxious magazine editor who finds her soulmate in Dr. Phil Gray. Played by Jason Will, Dr. Gray works for a pharmaceutical company that is doing a study for an experimental drug to treat workplace depression.
It’s kind of a fun premise and it’s nice to see Erica Wade in a prominent role in a comedy. So often she’s in the margins of the stage. Jason Will made quite an impression recently in Alchemist Theatre’s staging of True West. Directed by Mark Bucher, the show also features Joan End, Marilyn White, Tom Dillon and Jaime Jastrab.
The Boulevard Theatre’s staging of Rx runs April 18-May 3 at Plymouth Church on 2717 E. Hampshire. For more information, visit boulevardtheatre.com.
