Though panned by critics, the first Mall Cop, a star vehicle for Kevin James, took cruising the mall on a Segway to new heights while ringing up a hefty $150 million in ticket sales. Six years later, Paul Blart (James) is still a mall security guard and single dad looking for love when he takes his teenage daughter (Raini Rodriguez) to Vegas for a security officers’ convention. Once there, he scarfs down at buffets and tries to stop a gang of thieves from stealing the city’s artworks. Blart’s efforts to play the hero yield few laughs and detract from his funnier, more poignant efforts to be a good father.
