Leonard Cohen avoided the easy path of putting his best-remembered songs on his latest live album. Can’t Forget is not a greatest-hits package performed before audiences but a well-curated sequence of material culled from recent tours. The emphasis is on such lesser-known or newer songs as “I Can’t Forget” and “Night Comes On,” unfailingly poetic and sung-spoke in Cohen’s deep, sympathetic voice. Enveloping him is a mini-orchestra capable of everything from polished blues to Gypsy abandon and solemn country, as well as a trio of singers lifting high the choruses.
