The accolades keep pouring in for Lorde Fredd33's NORF: The Legend of Hotboy Ronald. In addition to taking home the Album of the Year award at last night's 11th annual Radio Milwaukee Music Awards, the rapper's dense, wildly creative record was also the night's Critic's Choice pick for Milwaukee album of the year.
Other honors went to Amanda Huff (Solo Artist, Album Artwork, Music Video), Abby Jeanne (Song of the Year), and Shle Berry (Independent Release). In a statement, Radio Milwaukee Program Director Jordan Lee noted that it was a big year for women. “The strength we've seen coming from the women in the Milwaukee music scene this year is simply undeniable,” Lee said. “It’s been a banner year for Milwaukee music and especially for our city’s great women artists.”
Cactus Club promoter Kelsey Kaufmann was also awarded an honorary Milwaukee Music Ambassador Award. Her bookings have helped provide a platform to voices, artists and genres that have been too often underrepresented in the city.
