It's that time of year again. The Department of City Development (DCD) is accepting your nominations for the best new buildings and spaces in your neighborhood. Some past winners have proven the categories - and the very definition of "good design" - to be very generous indeed. Others have proven there are a fair few Milwaukeeans out there with discerning tastes. So if you want to ensure some deserving new developments are rightfully rewarded submit your choices by visiting www.mkedcd.org/design. The deadline for nominations is March 2 and winners will be announced in May.
The DCD has provided a series of categories that may help you with your choice. These include: Design That Grabs You, Go Green, Historic Splendor, It's All in the Details, Live Work Harmony, Spaces and Places, Urbanism Redefined, Urban Oddities/ Amenities, Urban Heroes.
