It's not strictly for African-American ladies, but “The Gathering: What Women Want” has females listening to WJMR Jammin' 98.3 FM in mind. The 13th annual event, hosted by Milwaukee’s adult R&B and oldies station and Milwaukee County's Department of Family Care, will be held March 21 at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino’s Event Center (1721 W. Canal St.).
The event includes interactive workshops on relationships and health, a plethora of vendor booths for shopping, mini hair styling and fashion shows and a bevy of local and national musical entertainment. Milwaukee R&B diva Sondra B. and smooth jazz combo Cigarette Break share the stage with Jammin' 98.3 airplay staples Syleena Johnson and K'Jon. At least one man welcome to the event. "The Gathering" runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. General admission tickets will available for $10 at the door. For more information, visit jammin983.com/the-gathering.
