Majerus' name just popped up and I think that would be a huge distraction. There's so much speculation it would be good to know if there are front runners. Krystowiak's name popped up, but after the diasaster with the Bucks - no way. Bruce Weber is about the most interesting choice, because I couldn't see anyone leaving Illinois, but the fans are supposed to be horrible.

Can't blame him for taking the money. Shame to see him go, though. His replacement will have some big shoes to fill - at MU and in the community.

Stan Miller from Xavier and Kevin O'Neill from Arizona (apparently dismissed when Lute Olsen returned) are th leading candidates to replace Crean.

I can't say I envy Crean. He's inheriting a team that, as of now, won't have any returning starters next season, and yet will have unbelievably high expectations placed upon it. In the long run, though, I think it's a good move. Crean is a good recruiter and coach.
