A group referring to itself as “Improvised.Professional.Arts” (I.P.A.) is going to be staging a promising experiment tonight. Cool Story Bro is a program that is described as a “hybrid between improvisation, scripted theater, music, and dance.” The group performing includes Nevin Langhus, Roc Bauman, Kyle Solis and Patricio Amerena. There’s definite improv theatre dynamic in the group, but this feels like it could be a lot more than just improv. Also noted in the promo copy on Facebook: Liz Berndt will be doing lighting and Kat Poole will be doing makeup. It’s an interesting combination of talent. Definitely worth checking out on a casual summer evening in the middle of the week.
