As goofy as it sounds, with the popularity of the U.S. Air Guitar Championships, competitions like the Milwaukee Air Guitar Showdown tonight at 9 p.m. at the Stonefly Brewery are popping up all over the country. It’s easy enough to understand the appeal: They let contestants feel like a rock star without actually having to master that pesky “rock” part. Plus, they’re kind of funny to watch. The act may be silly, but the contest isn’t a joke: The organizers have laid out strict rules and judging criteria on their Myspace page, Myspace.com/airguitarshowdown.com. At this point, it’s only a matter of time until some ESPN channel begins broadcasting these things.

Once again, the poll question is absurd. Assange is both a "free-speech advocate" who THINKS he has the public's best interest in mind AND someone who is trying to humiliate America. He is no hero, no whistleblowing fearless journalist. He is closer to a fence, traffic and profiting from stolen goods. That being said, the true crime is that nothing has come from some of the terrible crimes illuminated by the document release that occurred months ago. Did the great anti-war crusading Shepherd Express even mention the video of an American helicopter firing on a village full of civilians? Nope. Assange is probably a mild psychopath, but he is not a traitor, a spy, or a journalist. There is uproar over the latest leak only because it embarrassed the true criminals- politicians.

Read this url, because the comments here show a lack of understanding of authoritarianism people need to know that we do not live in a democracy, but that autocratic rule has bankrupted the United States and furthered the destruction of other nations through lies and by creating laws to protect the perpetrators. To expose this is a necessary but ominous task. Such individuals who advocate freedom of speech and transparency understand this. Those who oppose this do not understand.

This is a true gem in Brookfield. I would call is Urban Suburban. Great food, downtown/NYC-like atmosphere, fabulous service, lounges to relax and have cocktails with friends. AND, they have bottle service for under $100. Try doing that downtown. For those of us that live in Waukesha county, traveling downtown to get our groove on is expensive and dangerous (think about it). This is a piece of downtown at our close proximity. And the food is not expensive. You can get an entree for under $14...the highest thing on the menu is like $25. Come in jeans or come in evening wear. AND, it's locally owned. Not a chain like everything else on Bluemound. You know what that means...better service, better attention to details, the executive chef who created the menu is on premise. They’re open Sundays and Monday too.
