More Than Meets the Eye

For a new exhibit on display at the Milwaukee Public Museum, UWM students created an overview of objects that can't be judged by looks alone. The exhibit, More Than Meets the Eye: The Art of Deception, examines camouflage, illusions and body modification, and includes forgeries like a Fiji mermaid, the half-fish/half-monkey hybrid that fooled circus audiences for years. The exhibit runs through March.
