It's ok to not like Aesop... not everyone will. He's brilliant and like most brilliant artists there will always be a group of critics who are challenged and confounded by their innovation. However - your poor journalistic quips such as "Alternative rap’s most stale, humorless producers" is not only flat out audacious, but also seemingly shows your lack of knowledge of hip-hop producers and Aesop's work... Have you truly ever listened to, not just heard, an Aesop album? You should definitely stick to reviewing records you have more experience with. Hip-hop, well, I don't think it's for you. Also, you should work on your prose and style in general.

I'm loving all these comments, and I've got to adm...

I'm loving all these comments, and I've got to admit that I was a little hard on Aesop Rock. I've just never been a fan of his production, and it seems particularly out of place here, way too dark for a fun tribute to a B-actress. But I'll concede that for Aesop Rock fans this could be an interesting change for Felt, and at the very least these beats do complement Murs in unexpected ways. It's still a huge letdown for me after Felt 2, though.

slug goes hard, murs drops some slick lines... and aesop's production is dark and heavy. on some bob your head until your brain makes the back of your eyeballs flat type shit. is it a murs album? no. is it an atmosphere album? no. is it an aesop rock album? no.. but it comes fairly close. overall its a nice little collabo and it has earned a permanent spot in my car's cd changer until one of the three comes out with another solo joint. Evan's talkin big like this album is a career killer or something... ease up. its not that serious.

i agree, i think aesop rock's production is really what makes this album. i think this reviewer decided to over-embellish his disappointment into this scathing, though short, summary. Kinda like thinking "hmm, i dont think i really care for orange juice" yet saying "ORANGE JUICE IS THE WORST BEVERAGE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH". Just chill man, this album kills, and Aes is mostly to blame for that...

why even post this if you have no idea what you're talking about? sick beats with a new twist is what they needed! first felt sucked, second was major improvement and this one shows they can adapt to all even though aesop was the best part of the record. lyrical content was kinda lacking, but who am i to say... im just another idiot posting here on some weak ass website with another lame writer.

The tone of the album is definitely different from the first two, but I like the change of pace. And it's not like all the beats are gloom and doom - hell, the album's lead-off track (to me) seems like it would've fit in on either of the other two albums. My biggest disappointment is that "Get Cake" isn't a longer track, as it has one of my favorite beats on the whole record.
