It's heartening to have groups such as The Love, Peace and Soul Band around to offer fresh spins on older R&B styles. The combo, featuring a vocal quartet highlighted by the presence of Mr. Deboe of WNOV 860 AM's Saturday morning “Blues Cafe,” specializes in music from the mid-'60s to the early '90s, the era when black male harmonizing was a staple on soul and pop radio.
Keeping with Deboe’s love of blues, he and his mates will be headlining a benefit for The Cream City Blues Festival Foundation on Saturday April 25 at the Masonic Lodge on 600 W. Walnut St.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show, with admission setting single music lovers back $15 or $25 for couples. For more information on other acts on the bill and other information, call Wendell at 915-5279.
