The 20th annual Italian Community Center Taste of Italy will be held Sunday, April 19. The event allows attendees to sample over 40 types of Italian food and beverages and serves as the main fundraiser for the non-profit ICC. The event will run from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and will feature a raffle as well as entertainment by Tradizione Vivente, the Italian Dance Group of Milwaukee; the Sicilian Serenaders; and singers Charles Evans and Jayne Taylor.
Admission to the event is free and tickets are purchased for food and beverages. Tickets are $1.50 each or seven for $10. Most items cost one ticket, with the exception of calamari, which costs two. Items for sampling include arancini, deep fried rice balls; sfinciuni, Sicilian style pizza; manicotti with ricotta; panini; antipasto; breaded pork tenderloin; gelato and spumoni; cannoli; and pizzelle, popular wafer cookies.
