Sunset Playhouse’s Bug In A Rug Children’s Theatre is one of the more unique theatre experiences in town. As it is open to children of almost any age, it’s largely the type of experience limited to parents and kids far too young to appreciate how strange it is. Parents and kids gather in pajamas and blankets and things on a large floor to do crafts and snuggle. There’s a set. There’s a cast. There’s a play. Kids participate in a show staged by paid actors. It’s fun stuff.
Of course, it’s not just parents and kids enjoying the show. The actors do too. Right now they’re looking for a few more of them for the upcoming season. They’re casting for a few different shows including a stage adaptation of the 2006 children’s book Love, Ruby Valentine and shows called Up & Adam! and The Little Red Hen Remix.
Bug In A Rug Auditions take place on Aug, 24 starting at 7:00 p.m.
From the announcement:
“Actors do not need to prepare anything for the audition. It will be a group audition with open scenes, improvisation, and some Happy Birthday singing. To learn more contact Erika Navin, Director of Education, enavin@sunsetplayhouse.com.
