1969 Trailer / Youtube
Robert Downey Jr. was just a whippersnapper in 1969 (1988), but the familiar Tony Stark persona of cocky, self-deprecating self-possession was already in place. This coming-of-age (under the threat of being drafted into the Vietnam War) flick rests on the shoulders of a good cast, including Kiefer Sutherland as a restless college student, Bruce Dern as the disapproving dad and Winona Ryder, looking all of 15, as the kid sister. Ernest Thompson directed and wrote 1969.
