This week on The Disclaimer, WMSE's weekly panel with Ryan Schleicher, Milwaukee Record editor Matt Wild and I, we examine the role music videos play in 2015. Do they still matter? Given that almost every serious artist releases them, the answer to that question seems like an obvious "yes." Yet so few of these artists seem to see much return on their videos, so why do they keep pumping them out? While there are no shortage of truly imaginative videos being produced right now, the vast majority seem created more out of obligation than inspiration. Then we close the episode by talking about the newest addition to Miller Park, a grand, multi-media exhibit dedicated to the most thrilling figure in Wisconsin sports history: Bud Selig. I heartily recommend checking it out.
