Last call for knoedel! If you’re still got a craving for kuchen, sauerbraten, rollbraten, bienenstich and strudel, then get to German Fest, which completes its weekend-long run at the Summerfest grounds today, and get your fill while you can. There will, of course, also be music, dancing, fireworks and beer, beer, beer.

The people commenting negatively obviously does not know Ms. Rodgers. I do. I know that she has come to my aid in assisting my students, she's attended graduating classes and have spoken words of encouragement to them and has also encouraged me on several occasions., free of charge. I know that she has a genuine interest in our children, she shows it all of the time. She is not rich, she could be, but she gives more then she receives. If you knew her, you would know that. This isn't just about vouchers, or a budget, this is about the children. Ms. Rodgers loves our children and has already proven this fact in her actions. You all should be praising God that she is running! Get to know her, call her and stop judging her based on your own little understanding.

Okay. The most recent studies show that neither vouchers or MPS are not stuff. Neither group has anything to be proud of.

Let's get over this labeling and get on with finding people who are willing to fight hard for our kids. What's the problem with that?

Leo Ries is a member of the advisory board for the pro-voucher group (ASA) which recruited, trained, and has been raising money for Rodgers. If Milwaukee voters are against vouchers, they should not vote for ReDonna Rodgers. The school board may not have a formal vote on the life of the voucher program, but having voucherites on the board dampens resistance to the unaccountable voucher program. What's more, voucherites often seek all sorts of radical market-based reforms that don't work for children but work very nicely for wealthy businesspeople.
