As part of its “Modernity and Tradition: Film in Interwar Central Europe” series, the UWM Union Theatre hosts a free 7 p.m. screening tonight of Faithless Marjika, a somber 1934 Czechoslovakian drama bout infidelity. It’ll screen accompanied by a short Polish film on the traditional Kujawiak dance, and a short film about the living conditions of Czechoslovakian woodworkers.

Thanks for nothing. It was built in the wrong place to have a positive effect on economic development, and it is architecturally ugly. People are losing their jobs and homes, almost on a daily basis; the state budget is in a shambles, the once world class UW system is rapidly falling into mediocrity, and crime in such places as Milwaukee, Kenosha and Racine appears to be running rampant. MPS and other urban school districts are a mess and WI leads the nation in drunk drivers.

What a great new slogan for our license plates" WI: we have the #2 stadium in MLB"

Which is more apt: "let them eat cake" or bread and circuses for the masses during the fall of the Roman empire?

I used to go to 30 games a year at County Stadium. Have never set foot in Miller Park, never will.
