The “2015 Milwaukee Latino Carnaval” will take place from Wednesday, July 22nd through Saturday, July 25th.
The Carnaval will include the following events taking place over the four day period: Stories and Colors of the Milwaukee Latino Carnaval, Masks of the 2014 Milwaukee Latino Carnaval, Latino Tour and Carnaval Night Out, Milwaukee Latino Carnaval Grand Parade, Milwaukee Latino Carnaval Street Festival and Alternative and Folk Latino Medicine Symposium.
“With the 2015 Milwaukee Latino Carnaval we are harnessing the power, the majesty and the diversity of the Latino culture, cuisine and folklore to educate and promote our communities by utilizing the Carnaval celebrations of each of the Latin American countries represented in Milwaukee,” said Juan Carlos Ruiz, Coordinator of the Carnaval.
The theme for this year’s Carnaval is “Honoring the African Diaspora” and will be highlighting the countries of Cuba, Honduras, Peru, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela.
The event is highlighted by visually stunning series of performances and exhibits that merge culture, folklore, history, fun, food, entertainment and education.
