Those who think that country music peaked during the storied glory days of Waylon Jennings, Billy Joe Shaver and Gram Parsons are in for a real treat tonight at the Up & Under Pub. Whiskey Bound, comprised of members from Milwaukee's own Freshwater Collins and Mississippi Cactus, will bring their thunderous and highly authentic "outlaw" style country to this classic Brady Street bar at 10 p.m.

Thanks for your thoughts. I wish more people thought like you. I agree that, so often, our leaders and their egos think that they have to prove something to people (i.e. they're "tough," so don't mess with them). Usually the way conventional wisdom goes is that it is "naiive" or "too idealistic" or "not realistic" to imagine that we can live without violence. Really? Isn't it naiive to imagine that we can actually live if we continue the violence? I take Gandhi's "eye for an eye and the world goes blind" a bit further: killing for killing... and who's left living? Thank you for posing this important topic. I hope others respond.
