Milwaukee rappers and activist Viva Fidel has branched out into the world of cinema with his new musical documentary Controlled Demo, which he premiers locally tonight at 7 p.m. at the UWM Union Theatre with a free screening. Drawing from behind-the-scenes footage of himself as well as filmed lectures he’s delivered on the topic, Fidel uses the film to examine and discuss the education and sociological merits of hip-hop.
