Van Buren's Whiskey Bar and Grill on Van Buren just south of Brady will hold its grand opening March 27. The space, formerly home to Libby's Lounge, has been remodeled by owner Fancisco Sandino and his son Sergio. It features large windows, a rebuilt central bar and modern north woods décor.
True to its name, Van Buren's will specialize in U.S., Canadian and Irish whiskeys along with bourbon, gin and scotch. The food menu has been developed by Jose Cruz who previously worked at Via Down and Transfer Pizzeria. The menu will feature foods that pair well with whiskey, including a series of burgers made with grass-fed bison, elk, beef and ostrich. Items on the menu will be locally sourced with organic meats and produce.
