Also opening tonight is the Milwaukee Chamber Theatre’s production of playwright Joanna McClelland Glass’ historical two-character drama, Trying. It’s based around Glass’ actual experiences as the secretary of Francis Biddle, who once had overseen the Nuremberg trials. At the start of the play, he’s 85 years old and a demanding boss, and his new secretary is a quaint, fresh-faced 25-year-old.
